Time flies, doesn’t it? While the days blur into each other, it’s essential to remember that time is the most precious of all commodities. As the old saying goes, time waits for no one. So, how has the year been treating you? Are you making the best use of your time? In this blog post, we’ll be discussing the importance of taking control over your time, and ways you can do that.

Start Tracking

It’s important to understand that if we don’t take control over our time, someone or something else will demand it from us. Whether that’s our job, a relationship, or daily distractions, our time is easily consumed. So, it’s up to us to take the reins and make sure we’re making the best use of every moment. One way to do this is to start by identifying where you’re currently spending your time. Do you spend hours scrolling through social media? Are you constantly distracted by notifications on your phone? Once you’ve identified your time-wasting habits, it’ll be much easier embracing change.

Set Goals

Setting goals and priorities for your day is major in taking control of your time. When you wake up in the morning, take a few minutes to plan out your day or plan it the night before. Write down the most important necessary tasks you need to complete first. Set deadlines and whatever you do not complete that day, the least important will carry over to the next day. This will help you to stay focused and on track throughout the day, instead of getting sidetracked by other things.

Investing in self-care, personal development, and education is another way to make the best use of your time. Use the time outside of work to grow yourself personally and mentally. Read a self-help book, learn a new tech skill or another language, attend a business webinar or conference or start a new hobby. Investing in yourself will not only make you a better person, but it’ll also pay off in the long run. Ways I’ve invested in myself include starting this blog.  I originally had a podcast but realized that I don’t like talking that much and writing was much easier for me. Instead of writing a book and selling it, I figured that my blog would not only improve my writing skills, but it would also help others.

Say No

Practice saying no to the things that don’t align with your goals or priorities. It’s easy to say yes to everything, but often that leads to being stretched too thin, feeling burned out and resentful. Saying no can feel uncomfortable at first, but it’s essential to protect your time and energy. You’ll thank yourself later, trust me.

Take Breaks

Don’t forget to take breaks throughout the day. Burnout is real, and it’s necessary to take time to recharge. Whether that’s going for a walk, meditating, or just taking a few minutes to close your eyes and breathe, taking a break will help you to be more productive and make better use of your time.

Taking control over your time is essential in living a fulfilling life. We can’t get time back, so it’s up to us to make the best use of it. By identifying where you’re currently spending your time, setting goals and priorities, investing in yourself, saying no more often, and taking breaks, you’ll be on your way to taking control of your time and living your best life.

Money can be a touchy subject for many people, and it makes some people feel uncomfortable even discussing it. Whether it is due to past experiences or beliefs that were instilled in us as children, many of us have a negative mindset when it comes to money. However, if we change our thoughts, attitude, and statements about it, we can achieve our goals without sacrificing ourselves to burnout. In this post, we’ll share some tips that may help shift your mindset by setting income goals to obtain the abundance that is available to all of us.

How Much Income Would You Like?

The first step towards achieving financial success is to be definite in the amount of income that you’d like to make. In my opinion, setting a clear financial goal is the best part of creating a successful money mindset. Think about what you want your financial situation to look like and set a specific number as your target. For example, you could say a money mantra daily like “I am making $____________, selling travel, digital products and services.” This is just an example but when you envision it, say it, and feel like it has already happened, you create space for massive change. 

Determine Your Exchange For It

Once you have set your income goal, the next step is to determine what you plan to give in exchange. Consider how you can use your skills, talents, and resources to add value to the world. Determine the value that you can offer in exchange for the income you desire. There is a book that I’ve been reading that helped me come up with these points and it is called “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. When you get the opportunity, read it and if you’re not a big reader, I provided an audiobook link. 

Establish a Definite Date 

Setting a specific date by which you wish to earn your desired income is important. It provides you with a clear target to work towards and keeps you accountable. Make sure that the date is realistic and achievable. For example, stating “I am making $100k selling cars” isn’t as effective as stating ” I am making $100k in 12 months providing excellent customer service and selling the best cars for my perfect prospects.” See the difference?

Create a Plan

Once you have set your income goal, determine what you plan to give in exchange, and set a specific date by which you wish to earn it, the next step is to create a plan of action. Determine the steps that you need to take to accomplish your goal and begin immediately, even if you don’t feel ready. We all feel like we are not ready to start sometimes but that doesn’t mean that you should listen to your doubting thoughts. Most of the time, it’s a lie due to fear. 

Write a Statement

Writing a statement of the amount of money that you intend to acquire can be a powerful tool in achieving financial success. Be clear and specific in your statement and make it a positive affirmation. Read your statement aloud twice a day, preferably in the morning and before bed.
